In December of 2000 George County Hospital opened a $3.1 million expansion which includes four labor and delivery suites, three surgical suites, six ICU/CCU suites with waiting area and seven patient rooms.
In
early 2001, the hospital opened a new 21,000 sq. ft. medical
office building adjacent to the hospital expansion.
In October 2003, George County Hospital opened a Senior Care Unit, which is designed to provide mental health services to persons 65 and older.
In 2005 George County Hospital acquired the Community Surgical Center, which offers General, Laparoscopic and Vascular surgery.
Our
hospital offers 24 hour emergency room service, ALS Ambulance Service, In-patient and Out-patient Surgery, Swing Bed Care, Physical Therapy,
Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Endoscopic
and Laparoscopic Surgery, Intensive Cardiac Care, MRI, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine,
CT Scanning and Ultrasound. Other specialty services offered are
Cardiology, Ophthamology, Orthopedics, Rheumatology, Nephrology
and General Surgery.
